We are a nation of vast diversities. As a nation, we have a population of over 240 million, more than 300 tribes, hundreds of dialect and languages, various religions and beliefs, and diverse cultures. The unique individuals, strange yet familiar languages and dialects, tantalizing culinary delicacy, rich history and diverse culture make up the identity of our nation. Nevertheless, despite of the differences we have, we all live under the motto ‘Bhinneka Tunggal Ika’, Unity in Diversity which leads to living harmoniously as one united front.

However, as a nation, Indonesia is still under multidimensional crisis. Being driven by the raging wave of globalization, Indonesian people have left and forgotten their culture and characteristics of a true Indonesian, thus give a rise to identity crisis. The environmental condition is slowly worsening, with the deforestation of forests, overexploitation of natural resources, and the immense amount of carbon dioxide released to the atmosphere. Corrupted individuals who call themselves leaders steal money from the people, making poverty as one of the major issues.

It is the obligation of the people to be the saviors of their nation.
It is us who must make a change for the better of this nation.
It is us who must end the crisis of our country.

Arts and music are ways of expressing one’s emotions. Art and music can speak; they are the universal language, they create an atmosphere, a language, a feeling which everyone can understand even when different languages are spoken. They share many messages without us saying them bluntly. Indonesia is rich in art and music; it’s time for Indonesian youth to express their care for their country. Let the Indonesian music flow to our very soul and the traditional arts whisper into our ears so our culture could stay in our hearts and bring an end to this crisis of identity. Let the creative spirit be freed and voices be heard!

“Let us show our love to this great nation.
Let us become saviors for our beloved Indonesia”
